Generally, pistols are -5 STR if fired when braced; long arms -10 STR if fired when braced.

A flintlock musket can manage 3 shots per minute; a 'tight fitting' cap-and-ball rifle, only about the same; the 'loose fitting' cap-and-ball Minie rifle, about 3 shots per minute. With tape priming or some equivalent system, perhaps 4 shots a minute. Out of direct combat rates of fire can be twice these values.
